A day trading simulator involves exchanging stocks in delayed or real time with paper or fictitious money. A day trading simulator is an excellent way for experienced traders to try out new strategies and methodologies. Beginners can also benefit by learning the basics and common pitfalls that many people make during the early stages of trading. Any amateur day trader should start with simulated trading to gain experience and learn new methods. As far as I’m concerned, the free version of Ninja Trader is the best possible real-time day trading simulator. You get the chance to trade in the exact environment you would with real money.

Birth of Day Trading Simulators

Fifteen years ago, there were no commercial simulators that could be accessed by the public. The stock market could not be accessed at home, so people would need to be physically present in the market to make investments. This made it expensive and inconvenient to practice, so many amateur traders lost a considerably large amount of money during the starting stages.

In the modern trading world, there are several services that offer simulation for making trades. A good simulation should assess the number of shares exchanged and the trading volume at the ask/bid level. This will help users to simulate real trading as close as possible. Esignal and TradeStation are two examples of excellent simulators that provide near real-life trading experiences.

Improve Your Skills With a Day Trading Simulator

During the period, the stock price falls to $75 per share. Now he has to return the shares to whomever he borrowed them from, so he buys the share at the lower price and gives them back to the broker or trader he got them from. He has now made $25 per share without ever owning them. This process happens all the time, but if you are not careful in your research, you will lose (and in some cases, lose big).

The reason I say you can lose big is because unlike traditional trading where if you buy a stock at $10 per share, you can only lose $10 per share. When you short a stock and the price rises, you stand the chance of losing more than just $10 per share, especially if the stock price jumps to $30 a share.

So if you’re going to short stocks, be prepared for what may happen if you’re wrong.

Penny stocks allow investors to diversify their portfolio by targeting areas of the market that are more prone to volatility, which can lead to outsized returns for the portfolio. Penny stocks are self-descriptive, each share sells for as little as a penny to as much as $5. However, these mere pennies can be far away from the intrinsic value of the stock, either higher or lower, and thereby cause a high degree of risk, or reward.

Nature of Penny Stocks

Penny stocks allow access to smaller markets that aren’t adequately covered by large or even mid-cap stocks. Often times, they don’t have earnings, and sometimes not even revenues, and, as such, no price to earnings (P/E) ratio can be applied. This makes the value of a penny stock difficult to monitor or assess. Add to that, few analysts follow penny stocks, as it is not cost-effective for brokerage houses to pay analysts to do so, so these instruments often fly under the radar. Penny stocks are frequent in industries such as pharmaceutical bio-tech start-ups, other developmental stage companies, as well as businesses in other speculative industries.

Penny Stock Risks

As these instruments are not frequently followed by analysts; it may be difficult to obtain enough information about management to assess their honesty and integrity. In addition, revenue streams may not be stable, and, as a result, it may be difficult to monitor the net book value of the business. It is also difficult to determine whether the company has sufficient assets or financing (either equity or debt) to remain in business until stable revenue sources arise.

The risk of owning stocks is the amount of your initial investment. That is the beauty of owning stocks, particularly penny stocks. As such, it may be useful to make a small investment in a penny stock. These are risky instruments, and the volatility of the price of these stocks illustrates this. Day trading penny stocks is particularly risky, however, selecting a company with volatility as high as penny stocks, one has to really monitor the entry price.

Starting to Invest in Penny Stocks

If you want to learn penny stocks and start investing, you should begin by obtaining a broker that allows access to OTB markets (off the board) which give you access to penny stocks. Search for industries that interest you and try to find companies with strong management, whom have access to financing, and who have an idea that can fill a need that customers have. Penny stocks have risks associated with them, but can also yield fabulous returns.

While trading forex online, we’ll inevitably have to deal with a large number of scenarios and conditions that are often difficult, if not impossible to predict in advance. Traders have different responses to this unpredictability problem, but many prefer to make use of fundamental tools for gaining long term visibility while analyzing the price action. A trend following strategy is an excellent tool with which we can take advantage of fundamental methods, and here we examine two main approaches in which this trend following approach applies to the market.

Since prices demonstrate fractal behavior, one can create a trend following strategy on a five-minute or five-day chart with equal efficiency, if we exclude the compensation of the broker. When this last factor is taken into account, however, a trend following strategy is more favorable the longer the time frame of the trade is.

1. Short Term Trend Trading

We suggest this approach mostly for practice trading. An excellent way to practice the trend following method is to apply it to five minute charts with a tiny commitment of capital (and small position size and leverage), so that within the framework of a trend following approach a large number of strategies can be tested, with only limited risk. If we were to study trading on long term charts, we would have to wait a long time before we could gather the necessary experience. The fractal nature of market action makes it possible that we apply the same strategies that work on a five-minute chart to a five month chart with the same effectiveness. Of course, while evaluating the results of short term educational trading, the spread cost must be excluded from the end result in order to achieve a better representation of potential long term gains (where with long term price action the effect of the spread is mostly negligible.)

2. Long-term Trend Trading

This is the main method favored by those who practice the trend following approach. There are more advantages associated with this method than the scope of this brief article would allow us to detail, but we can mention the lower number of trades (hence lower fees for the forex broker), greater benefit from fundamental analysis, the possibility of adopting a meaningful layered approach, the added confidence gained from being able to hold a position for the longer term. Nonetheless, it is difficult for a beginner to apply this method right from the beginning, and that is why we suggest that the introduction take place through the exploitation of short-term trends.

Trend following is just one of many possible forex strategies, but it has the best potential for profitability, and also for inculcating the necessary qualities in your trading psyche. Trading requires commitment, and by a committing to a long term strategy you will improve your chances of success considerably.

There are advantages to having an offshore bank account. Personal attention, privacy, easy access from any location, tax advantages, and opportunities to increase your wealth are just a few. It makes sense to consider this option, but one must do so with caution.

Many offshore transactions are conducted by means of the internet and while this offers the convenience clients are looking for, it also allows scammers to make easy targets of incautious or uninformed investors. One of the fastest growing types of fraud pretends to be a forex related investment—whether in funds or in traditional brokerages. The forex market is relatively new, so the general public has yet to develop an eye for such schemes. According to some estimates, billions of dollars each year are taken by swindlers. How can an honest investor take advantage of offshore opportunities and still protect themselves from fraud?

One thing that puts you ahead of the con artists is simply knowing and believing that it really could happen to you. Knowledge is power as the old saying goes, and this is as true in the arena of offshore banking and investments as it is in other places. People are defrauded every day who did not think it could happen to them. A savvy investor must become educated about different types of banking, investment products, or forex accounts that interest them. Talk to trusted accountants and advisers about opportunities you are considering. Remember that you don’t have to invest millions to become a victim of a scam. Criminals out to get your money will take as little or as much as they can convince you to give them.

Gann’s published techniques are derived from three principles and areas of study:

Price, time and range are the only three factors that must be considered. Studies revolve around support and resistance lines, pivot points and angles;

Financial markets are cyclical in nature. Studies focus on historically reoccurring dates, derived by natural and social means;

Financial markets are geometric in design and in function. Studies incorporate reviews of market swings using trendlines and reversal patterns.

Financial markets do move in trends. Gann discovered that the most significant trendlines occur around an angle of 45º. He noted that a trendline at a sharper angle suggests that a rally is unsustainable. Conversely, a trendline at a lower level indicates that a trend is close to reversing. In his study of angles, Gann purports that when an up-trending price reverses and breaks under an ascending angle, the tendency of the price is to go to the next nearest angle below it. Likewise, when a down-trending price reverses and breaks up through a descending angle, the tendency of the price is to go to the next nearest angle above it.

Some of Gann’s processes are empirical in nature, such as determining time units, choosing high and low points of trends from which to draw lines and angles, choosing the right geometric pattern, drawing the pattern, or searching for when the pattern will repeat further down the chart. Each step requires a degree of experience and guided insight to be successful, as with any other interpretive art form of analysis. Gann critics tend to want more specificity in his methods requiring less work on their part. Those who look for easy shortcuts, especially in currency trading techniques, are doomed from the start of their journey. No method is infallible. Consistency in beating the odds is the primary objective.

Although Gann’s critics have questioned the legitimacy of his various techniques, his pioneering work has formed the underpinnings of today’s quantitative methods of technical analysis and trading. Cycles and trends do repeat. Movements resemble waves due to natural laws of physics influenced by the psychology of traders on a cumulative basis. Markets have drastically changed since the 1920’s in complexity, size and diversity, yet these principles persist. Perhaps, his contribution to quantitative trading is the reason why the picture of W. D. Gann greets you as you enter the New York Stock Exchange, one reason that even his severest critics must acknowledge.

What makes a broker best for currency trading? Professionalism, technical competence, reliability, a respectful customer support staff, and a wealth of trading choices. Yet it is hard to find broker meeting all these criteria. More often than not, you will need to sacrifice certain aspects of your requirements in order to reach the expected standards in others. So what are the most important factors, those that must be emphasized over other variables during broker selection? Here is a list.

1. Honesty

The broker must be decent and real. Our foremost concern is that the firm be punctual and courteous in handling withdrawal requests and prompt in crediting the account when you funds are sent. This is also the main criterion of establishing a relationship with any broker. You can’t take risks with fraud, but beyond that, the implementation of current technologies for the protection of the privacy of client data is often the first test for establishing the professionalism of any company.

2. Robust Technical System

The technical system must be robust enough to suffer breakdowns only rarely. This is the second most important criterion; the trader must go through a lengthy trial phase in order to ensure that the trading platform is reliable before committing any more capital. Servers should be active most of the time, and crashes, breakdowns, as rare as possible. There are so many forex brokers that you never need so settle for anything less than perfect in this respect.

3. Plethora of Analytical Tools

In most cases, the amount of available technical tools is sufficient regardless of the broker. Still, if you are a trader that strongly favors an obscure indicator, you should make sure that the broker in consideration makes it available to you in a workable form. Beyond that, for a fundamental trader, news flow, and various analytical resources are of great importance. Access to the news updates can be the most important concern in the mind of a fundamental trader in search of a suitable broker. Looking through forex broker reviews will often result in finding said suitable broker.

4. Access to Different Markets

It is really possible to be a great forex trader by just trading gold or the EURUSD, so it is not that important that you be given access to tens of different currency pairs. In fact, given how integrated the global markets are today, trading two currencies in the same region and the same economic grouping is likely to feel very much like trading the same currency.

5. Professionalism of the Support Staff

Although this item is of great importance in resolving issues that will inevitably rise from time to time, we would prefer that the overall competence of the broker necessitates access to this channel only occasionally. A moderate degree of competence should then be enough. The broker must be able to perform smoothly according to a basic standard of credibility and competence; and then the trader does not need to spend a lot of time listening to the marketing representatives of the support staff flattering him to be patient and understanding at all times.

The best forex broker for you will depend on your expectations and demands. A short term, active trader will have different requirements than a long term carry trader who logs on to his account with far less frequency. As such, you only may know the best firm for you in the market, and that’s why you must do your own study regardless of the abundance of reviews and information online relating to this subject.

There are a couple of swing trading systems in stock investing to consider. Conduct thorough research online before you choose because several systems are available. Compare the tools and features of each system that you find interesting.
One of the main systems is the short-term swing trading picks. This system allows the investors to predict trades. Based on nineteen technical indicators, some systems will recommend buy and sell. Indicators sent may pertain to the stock markets, while other indicators may be general or pertain to single stock attributes.

One of the chief swing trading systems is the Short Term Stock Selector, abbreviated as STSS. This system works on a neural network and reads the stock charts daily. Charts are used by investors who may see them in 2D or in time or pricing.
Stock charts are viewable on the Internet in 3D, i.e. in some cases. Some charts have nineteen dimensions for viewing. You can compare charts online with other related charts to see which swing trading system is right for you.
Some of the charts offered will predict how stocks are traded. Its prediction is based on chart patterns that are similar. Swing trading involves seven days of market activities. Systems that function on neural networks tend to factor in associated stocks to give you more options.

Some of the swing trading systems come with brokerage accounts, trading capital, disciplinary plans for investors to follow, proven trading plans and then some. Research the market to see if these offers are real, or just a waste of time.
Swing trading involves stocks and indexes as well as commodities. Trading practices like commodities are instruments that investors buy and sell on electronic systems. They sell or buy commodities near the end of high or low prices that swing each day, or on price volatility that is done weekly. Swing trades are done daily online yet; the trades are done faster than trend following trades.

These activities are done faster than buy and hold investment strategies as well. Investors use systems that often include trading algorithms to calculate sets of rules that they will use either for fundamental or technical analysis. The results spin out entry, stop, exit, and other trading price points.

The algorithms are never exclusive. The same feature is used in day trading as well as swing trading for long-term investments. Take time to learn more about swing trading systems before you decide.

Some of the investors would agree that most fun part of investing is probably the choosing of a stock to buy or perhaps a currency that would rise against another.

To make money with their stock picking, an investor will need to set their objectives. Some things to consider are whether they would want revenue, expansion, or perhaps safety, their challenge now is for them to survey the field as well as to simplify it down to the stock that would appear as the best one to meet their wants.

This would clearly suggest research. In trying to find a winning stock The may feel a bit like the non-professional they initially are. However, there are mavens, or experts of every outline that has got to have a big lead on their knowledge as well as with their experience.

In conducting their own selection process, it will enable them to have a valuable comprehension of the methods they are going to use as well as the discipline of security research. Discipline does not need to actually eliminate the fun, and it is also a healthy balance for them to be able to not overly view the stocks in the wrong fashion.

Fundamentally, it’s worth the effort to try and predict the company’s potential with its stated earning power. Therefore, the present cost of its stock as an investment is an important consideration for them to take, this goes the same in currency trading.

The analyst’s use the raw materials or what they call the stats. They will study, taking in reports, balance sheets, stock-market records, as well as the numerous proportions that could be obtained from the company that they are going to invest with. They would compare the company against its rivals, and they would check if the performance of its industry group against its rival groups or perhaps with the economy as a whole.

By performing these analytic processes, the analyst is able to make what he feels is a proper decision on which stocks to purchase and at what price. Without the fundamental analysis, purchasing stock becomes nothing more than a guess. That’s why it’s important to take time to find stocks to trade that have the best potential with the least amount of risk.
